IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT -  DON’T MISS YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO ENROLL!

YOU CAN ONLY ENROLL ONE TIME A YEAR AND THAT TIME IS NOW!

Enrollment Dates: 4/15/22 – 5/20/22

At Employee Benefit Systems, Inc. we have been providing Custom Benefit Solutions to Union Members since 1997.  We pride ourselves on educating Union members on benefit options that will provide needed financial protection when the member and their family need it the most.  Specifically, for Allied Federation, EBS has been providing the membership with a Disability plan that works in addition to your Railroad disability and Supplemental Sickness plan since 2019.  It is important to note that since 2019, the disability plan has paid more that 2.3 million in claims to the Union members of Allied!

How it works:

Railroad Disability and the Supplemental Sickness plan help the member in a BIG way the first year you are disabled.  What happens when your Supplemental Sickness plan runs out after 12 months? That is where things get challenging for the member in months 13-24.  This is where the Employee Benefit Systems Disability plan comes in.   EBS has designed a plan specifically tailored to Railroad Union Members.  When you are determined to be disabled, and you have met your elimination period, the plan pays $400 per month for the first 9 months after that the plan increases 8x in benefit to $3,500 per month for the next 12 months!  That is right 8x!  Why 8x?  Because that is when your Supplemental Sickness plan will have been exhausted. The current insurance carrier is Unum.

What is Changing?

EBS has been providing this benefit since 2019 and as we noted above UNUM has paid 2.3 million in claims.  This year, because EBS negotiated a better plan with CHUBB insurance company, Allied Federation will be moving our disability plan to CHUBB.  This is your opportunity to enroll in that plan!  If you waive your opportunity you will not be allowed to enroll until next YEAR!

What do you need to do?

Self-enrollment is available for Allied Federation Union members only during the scheduled enrollment dates of 4/15/2022 – 5/20/2022, if you miss this opportunity you must wait until next year to enroll. In order to self-enroll, you will need to create a new account and have the following information available:

  • Name
  • Date of Birth
  • SSN
  • Email

Then you will be asked to create an employee account.  Creating an account will allow access to the Self-Enrollment System. After that the enrollment will take less than 5 minutes to complete!
